The Cardiothoracic Surgeons at The International Heart Institute of Montana bring years of experience to their practice.
Dr. Matt Maxwell,
after a career in the US Navy where he was Chief of Cardiac Surgery
joined the practice in 1997. He is currently the Director of
Cardiovascular Services at IHI.
Dr. Stewart Long
Dr. Stephen Tahta who came to IHI first as a fellow and stayed to join the other surgeons in practice.
Dr. Walter Graves, who holds down the practice in Kalispell, is also a
military man, with a history in the US Army. He practiced at Benefis
Healthcare in Great Falls before joining IHI in 2003.
Dr. Stephen Hiro, with over 20 years in the practice of cardiothoracic surgery practiced in Tampa, Florida before coming to Missoula in 1995.
Dr. Carlos Duran,
President/CEO, one of the pioneers in the history of valve surgery,
offers an element of perspective and experience unique to this program.
